Blu – Studio 5.3

Do you wish that you had a Samsung Galaxy Note? The Galaxy Note is a phone/tablet hybrid with a 5.3 inch super AMOLED HD display. The Samsung Galaxy Note is a very expensive phone at $250 on contract. It is also limited to At&t and t-mobile in the U.S. if you admire the Galaxy Notes form factor you will be pleased to know there is a Galaxy Note alternative. The phone is called Blu Studio 5.3.

The name refers to the 5.3 inch display its sporting. Even though Blu isnt a well known brand, they have seemed to pull of a very beautiful and functional Smartphone. The Galaxy Note does have a 1.4GHz dual core processor with 1gb of RAM, While the Blu Studio 5.3’s processors are a disapointment on paper. It offers a 800 MHz processor which isnt a deal breaker, the gaming on this phone is still terific although it has disadvantages.

Expect the Galaxy notes specs to blow the Studio 5.3’s out of the water, since the Studio 5.3 is only $250 unlocked. The Blu Studio 5.3 has a resolution of only 480 x 800 and the note has a 1280 x 800. The quality of the display is actually pretty managable, just dont hold it next to a Galaxy Note because you will see the difference. There is also a vga front and a 5MP rear facing camera.

Android 4.0 is now available for the galaxy note, however its not for the Blu Studio 5.3. This phone makes use of what it has and you wouldnt guess that it only has a 800 MHz processor. This device performs like a normal android device so you wont even notice the short comming. There is a small amount of internal memory on the phone so you might want to buy a micro SD card.

This  is a very good deal if you are looking for a smartphone off contract. Its almost 1/3 the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note so its worth a consider. The Blu Studio 5.3 is only $250 and is available from Best Buy, Amazon, and online retailers.
