RIM Blackberry – Curve 9310 Review

With Blackberry 10 on the way, The current blackberry devices are getting little attention. The Blackberry Torch 9800 series has a touchscreen slider phone, and a full fledged touch screen phone. The Blackberry Bold is a luxorious device that has a 2.8 inch touchscreen and a full qwerty keyboard. The Bold is almost iPhone thin and the design is unique. Thoose are high quality smartphones, and the U.S carriers want you to pay a high price on a two year contract.

For thoose of us on a budget who want a decent smartphone without the contract, you should check out the Blackberry Curve 9310 for Boost Mobile. Its has a stylish design and the famous curve form factor. On this phone you will get a 3.2 MP camera with flash thats okay for quick snaps of pictures and videos. Dont expect iPhone camera quality, but you do get the benifit of the qwerty keyboard.

This is a Blackberry 7 phone, however it doesnt have a touchscreen like the Bold and Torch devices. The Blackberry 7 OS loads up fast on this phone and you’ll have to navigate using the trackpad. That gets the job done, although a touchscreen would have been nice. With this phone you will be able to navigate the web with Blackberry 7’s browser, which is fast. You also have the option to download an alternative browser.

The Blackberry Curve 9310 does have BBM and access to the Blackberry App World. Its similar to the Blackberry Bold, there just isn’t a touchscreen, and the     Bold is wider. The Blackberry Curve 9310 isn’t as impressive as the Bold 9930, however the value is. The Blackberry Bold 9930 is more expensive than the iPhone from $200 to $250 on a two year contract.

The Blackberry Curve 9310 is only $99 without a contract. U.S carriers have expensive Blackberry service plans. They charge outrageous prices for talk, text, and web. At Boost Mobile you can get the Montly Unlimited plan with unlimited talk text and web for $60 per moth with payment shrinkage to $45 a moth. That’s a really great deal. If you want a cheaper plan there is the Blackberry Messenger plan which will give you unlimited talk, text, and BBM for only $45 per month with shrinkage to $30.

This is a beautiful phone that is worth the $99. Soon Blackberry 10 will be out and the newer phones will replace the expensive Blackberries of today. Then maybe we will see Blackberry Bold devices come to Boost Mobile in the same price range.
